Hi Mark,
I'm Fletcher Potanin, Dr Paddi Lund's publisher. I just came across your post.
Great review! Thanks for your kind comments about Paddi's book and concept of Happiness in business.
Yes, he's the real deal, and we keep our web business as close to his ideal as we can.
You'll find Paddi's other books about many professionals' key frustrations just as intriguing - Paddi really does think differently about conventional business norms.
Thanks again for sharing Paddi's story with your colleagues. It really is the kind of message that should be 'trumpted' to the world.
Kind regards,
Fletcher

Simon - One of the things that attract people to become coaches is the opportunity to make a difference doing something they like. But what often happens is that they exchange one environment (e.g. a stressful corp job they've grown to dislike strongly) with one of their own where they do everything, including cleaning the proverbial business loos.

From what I can tell Paddi set his happiness at work goal (after much personal turmoil) and they proceeded to create systems which were in line with that. Simple, but not easy.

What impresses me even more is that unlike a lot of Internet Marketers who gain wealthy only because they're selling a dream to other wannabees, Paddi is both a practicing Dentist with unique ways of mixing "business, wealth and happiness" and a successful marketer of Information systems (check his web site, you'll see. It's a superb marketing vehicle).

In other words, he walks his talk.
(Bare in mind I haven't met him or seen his Dental surgery for real. I've just read his one book and other reviews about him.
Caveat emptor always applies - but I believe he's the real deal.)

I'll look this one up Mark as I find the idea intriguing. I must admit I approach it a bit skeptically, but if you like it then it can't be that bad. I'm skeptical not because I don't want to be happy, but whether happiness can be institutionalized. Isn't happiness too chaotic to be committed to a structure? I guess I'll find out.

My favorite business book is The Effective Executive by Peter Drucker, which I review on my site.
