Thanks to yours truly, My teen&#039;s discovered the joys and agonies of track and field here in Japan. When I remind her I&#039;ve puked on more hills than she&#039;s had hot dinners (or words to that effect haha!), for some reason I get the &quot;get outta her ole man dreamer&quot; look :-) Yes, she can now out sprint me but I still do a mean, if wobbly, hill climb these days...

Good luck with your marathon. Japan is road running crazy - lots of cheering crowds for college road relays in the autumn and winter months, as well as on TV. 

Yes, and I still hear my coach&#039;s voice when I think back on those foggy November evenings.
